In the morning I say: “Good Morning!” and for believers each day is a new beginning.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lam. 2:22-23
“One day at a time really means that today is day one.”
Sometimes a cheerful greeting gets a response like “Well, it’s early yet.” or some other equivocation. “Wanna Bet?!!”
As believers the gift of time is precious.
Do we have a sense of urgency? About conveying the “hope that is in us?”
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.” 1 Pt. 3:15-16
2016. An opportunity for God to change lives. With the opportunity comes risk. That risk is to reputations – people living in the dark don’t wish to be illuminated by the light of truth.
So note: “But do this with gentleness and respect.”
When we discussed truth last year (see that link) we wondered at how it (truth) was being so diluted by relativism…

So for my sake teach me to take one day at a time.
