Passions aflame left and right. Are we doomed to conflict?

Some not-so-well organized thoughts.

Simple people treasures life’s lessons, however they occur. The truths they accumulate are no less powerful and informative than those held with pride by great philosophers.

Deep understanding is a living presence that abides with truly humble persons. They never cast a “knowing” look at you, or make suggestions. They never give away their thinking. They live and let live, learning more every day.

Genuine humility is a very great gift.

Humility does not infer ignorance. However, ignorance is foundational to intolerance and hostility. The depth of such ignorance is that cults abide no understanding that questions group assumptions. Religion, politics – any aspect of life that exhibits violent polarity fits this paradigm.

  • Hostility and Loathing are incompatible with peace.
  • Hostility and loathing are anathema to humility.

There are those that would argue complexity is always increasing, that there is no room for simplicity. And so it seems! Nature would teach us that complexity is inevitable. From our perspective increasing entropy is unavoidable. There are no simple answers.

But that’s only the temporal view. From a Higher point of view, simplicity is an aspiration. It’s powerfully attractive.

And why not? So many carry huge burdens of complex reasoning. Worries and fears dominate the thoughts.

Humility does not infer ignorance. However, ignorance is foundational to intolerance and hostility.

Choosing to abandon complex, disturbing thinking is a hard path. Because in the absence of hostility one will very probably encounter pity.

What once was a sense of hostility transforms into something opposite. Something like clemency.

Clemency. Noun. Definition: As in “mercy…”
Kind, gentle, or compassionate treatment especially towards someone who is undeserving of it
