Calling him “Orange Jesus”… Why do Evangelicals worship the former President?
“Why the Mysterious Appeal?” She asked.
Do you think she meant “mysterious” as in woo-oohoo-woo, supernaturally weird?
Or do you think she meant “mysterious” as in confusingly incomprehensible?
The Evangelical church has twisted itself into unrecognizable, hideous deformity. It is Christian in name only. And this ugliness must worsen.
Evangelicalism has devolved into a Cult bent on securing primacy. Its marked by the institutional lust for power, influence and wealth. Leadership is corrupt. The system is founded on religious claims of prophetic destiny interpreted through self-fulfilling exegesis, self-righteous false dogma and bigoted hate.
“It’s a Cult? I think people not thinking for themselves is just creepy.”
Leaders claim the approval of God and followers are never permitted to question that authority. The objective is to usher in a renaissance church-state where castes among people and faiths across the earth are re-established in subservience to Evangelical doctrine.
An “end-times” church must be deceived and attach itself to corrupt politics.
Genuine believers have left or are leaving – refusing affiliation. Exvangelicals / Orphangelicals will never vote GOP again. At any level of politics, they will forever resist the notion that church and state mix.
Quite in fact, some Exvangelical believers see increased church decrepitude as an element of essential end times Judaeo-Christian prophecy.
DT’s “Mysterious” appeal is unsurprising in this context. An end-times church must be deceived and attach itself to corrupt politics. An ultimate human failure will be superseded by a loving God’s intervention on behalf of earth’s downtrodden inhabitants. Downtrodden by a church falsely claiming the name of Christ as it’s banner.
So also, the “Mysterious Appeal” of an openly immoral leader as “Orange Jesus” is confoundingly incomprehensible.
“I… don’t understand followers giving up critical thinking skills.”
People used to thinking for themselves have a hard time understanding folks to whom thinking is burdensome.
Surrendering ones opinions in favor of regurgitating cultist dogma is a track well worn by believers ascribing this or that religion. Or political party.
Reciting dogma is quite simply easier than developing ones own convictions… genuine thinking is hard.
“Sometimes people just need a place to belong. They’re not thinking out of fear for not belonging.”
True enough.
Though, and this actually happened… I was working with some fellows I thought were given to clear thinking, then they came out for the “Flat Earth” thing. (Circa 2018) There are other examples…
In some cases deliberate ignorance is real. I’ve come to believe that this condition is more prevalent today than it was previously…
That’s just my observation. And yes, it’s creepy.
As always, enjoy the typos. My posts here are simply mind share…
