An Outline of Faults – Evidence of Apostasy

Ten categories declaring a range of errors committed by modern Christianity.

Many of my Exvangelical friends and Orphangelical believers have departed congregations in recent times. But they have a hard time saying exactly why. These points are a work in progress since 2014.

An Allocution

  1. Political Orthodoxy. Politics from the Pulpit. Secular interference is an anathema to the Gospel. Cultish litmus is entirely inappropriate.

  2. Legislative Moralism. Christian Confrontationalism, Christian Nationalism: Presumptive moral ascendancy. 

  3. Social Darwinism. Opposition to social justice – suborning fascism, economic entitlement, racial oppression.

  4. Affiliation with Lawlessness. Inveterate deceit, perversion of truth. Subversion of the tenants of social inclusion. Machiavellian deliberation.

  5. Pharisaical Hypocrisy. Callous literalism. Insatiable financial appetite. Flinty self-justification. Absurd judgmentalism.

  6. Insular Selectivism. Suppression, repression of counterbalancing views and discourse. Impenetrable self-service to the point of deliberate isolation.

  7. Science Denial. Pseudo-science; Anti-Vax. Literary Censorship. ”Woke” hate. Strict creationism.

  8. Temporal Narcissism. Persecution complex. Theft of victimhood. False valor.

  9. Pandering Gossip. Conspiracy. Rumor mongering. Exclusive entertainment of the self-reinforcing echo-chamber.

  10. Deliberate Ignorance. Intellectual Sloth / Anti-intellectualism. Flat-earth syndrome – spiteful choice in obvious error.
